Home From Houston, Texas

The International Quilt Festival was unbelievable; so many quilts and vendors, it made my head spin. It took us three days to make the journey around the convention center. We saw so many beautiful quilts and even more vendors selling everything you could possibly think of. I purchased a few small kits that I can work on at night while watching TV.

This is the view from upstairs looking to the right. I tell you this is only one small portion of what was inside this convention hall.

On Saturday we ventured down to Galveston to see the Gulf of Mexico. It was 89 degrees and the water was warm. We put our feet in and walked up and down the beach looking for shells. We had lunch at Bubba Gumps and tried the shrimp sampler. We also had their famous hush puppies.....yummmm!

and then....we had a little mishap with the rental car on I-45. This is something that belongs under the bumper, and it was held on by two pieces of telephone wire. I do believe that the people who had the car before us must have damaged it and wired it back on before returning it to the rental place. We were going 60mph and heard an awful noise and this was hanging by a thread. It caused one of the front tires to go flat, so we had to call roadside assistance. My sister was not a happy camper as you can see by the look on her face....lol! All in all, it was a wonderful trip and we had a wonderful time navagating our way in and around Houston.

  1. glad for you - that all in all - you had a happy time. Head up!

  2. Hi Terri! Wow, sounds like this will be a trip you will always remember.... LOL! One day in the future you will sit back and remember all this with laughter (I hope LOL!)

  3. Love going to Galveston and just the charm it has. Sorry about the rental car, yep I bet the previous drives just fixed it up. so they wouldn't have to pay to have it fixed, should have insurance though. Hugs and glad you had a good time. xoxo

  4. Oh no! I didn't get to meet you!!!!! It was a whirlwind wasn't it? I would have loved to have gone to the beach :-(
